Hello,
My latest Blog, I pray you enjoy reading my testimony.
Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
As I reflect on my journey, there were times I had given up. When people quoted this scripture to me, it made me angry. However, many years later, I know there is truth in these words.
My Testimony
My Mum and Dad had come down from Queensland to stay with us for a few days, and we were going to take the fishing boat off its mooring to bring it home to do some maintenance. So, we drove down to Carrum Boat Ramp at Patterson River, and we would walk back to the private jetty in Patterson Lakes. We lived a few doors down many years ago, so it was good to take Mum and Dad back to see where we used to live. It was about a half-hour walk.
I was walking down the road and along the footpath, and I just jumped over to the gutter and started walking along it. I thought, wow, this is what freedom is, this is what life is about, this is what it's like to be free of sickness and disease. I thought to myself, this so joyful just to be able to run along an edge, to walk along an edge of the gutter, and to be pain-free, to be set free of all pain, to be able to walk and bounce in my step, and I just stopped and paused, I said thank you, Jesus! Thank you, Jesus, thank you for healing me, and thank you for restoring my body to normal.
Below is my journey.
It was in November 2016. I'd taken my grandson fishing and noticed my forearms were slightly sore after catching a fish. I didn't think much about it. The following month, I started to lose a lot of my strength. My body started to ache, and I began to stiffen up. It was hard for me to bend over, touch my toes, or do anything.
During the Christmas break up at work, there were drinks in the plastic container, and I couldn't bend over and pick the drinks up; I had a friend come over a few days later. I had some redgum sleepers he wanted, and he told me he would cut them up with the chainsaw. I went to pick them up and put them in the back of the ute, but I couldn't. I wasn't strong enough, and Rob said Mal, what's wrong? I've seen you lift heavier things than these before. What's going on? I said I don't know. Something's happened to my body. He insisted that I go to a doctor. He was a typical bloke; I'll be right, I said, but I knew something was drastically wrong, so I booked an appointment with the doctor.
I went to the doctor a few days later. I was told to have some blood tests, and the doctor gave me some prednisolone to help; I spent the next month on the couch and lost 10kg. All my muscles had disappeared.
This was the most painful and challenging experience. They increased my dose of prednisolone, and over this period, I could not shake anybody's hand. The pain when someone squeezed my hand would drop me to the ground; I couldn't bend down to touch my toes; I couldn't do anything. My body was stiff, my feet and hands would ache, I lost all my strength, my own body was eating my muscles, and I felt like I'd run a marathon every morning, and that's how I woke up so stiff.
The medical testing began. I had many specialists to see and travelled from doctor to specialist, I was finally put in the hands of Dr Bita Omidvar Rheumatologist, but still no answer. They just put it under the heading “autoimmune disease,” and I came to realise that an autoimmune disease is a word where doctors have no answers for some diseases, and it all comes under this umbrella.
Some of my tests involved running electric currents through my body and measuring the muscle reaction and how the current flowed to the muscles. The first time was pretty painful. The second time was absolutely horrendous. I walked out like I had been struck by lightning. I was in shock.
Blood tests, x-rays, CT scans. A Neurologist
They then placed me in a Melbourne hospital for a muscle biopsy on my leg, and still no answers.
The medication I began to take was methotrexate, which is used to treat cancer. I started in tablet form, and there was no real improvement, so I was on methotrexate with prednisolone. They changed it to injections of methotrexate; they thought it would be better through a needle once a week; I can't stand needles. The funny thing is that I had to see the doctor and the nurse to teach Anita to inject me. The nurse didn't hear the doctor properly and used a syringe and needle that was massive; it should have been a diabetic needle so that Anita would chase me around the house, and it had to be a weekly injection. The side effects of the injection were horrendous. It was constant diarrhoea and made me feel horrible, and still no peace in my body. I was able to work. Fortunately, my appearance seemed OK on the outside, but I was internally a mess. I spoke to the specialist one day, and he said how about we get you a lanyard and put it around your neck, saying you have an autoimmune disease. He suggested a walking stick to help me walk. I refused; I was not going to be labelled.
There was no improvement with Methotrexate, so they put me on SALAZOPYRIN with Prednisolone. This drug would make me sweat yellow, my pillow yellow, and my clothes yellow. I saw a natural path, and who diagnosed me with lupus. The specialist eventually said it was a type of rheumatoid arthritis, but they couldn't label it after seven long years of living life as a sick man. All I knew was my body was attacking itself and would eat my muscles.
In 2015, I was ordained as a Pastor at Peninsula City Church, serving as an Outreach Pastor. I was also invited to join the Eldership and, in 2018, became the Missions Pastor. By 2019, my mental state had hit rock bottom. While I was working in the garage at home, I was changing the lights when I cut the electrical wires. At that moment, I felt overwhelmed and hoped everything would just come to an end. Thankfully, Jesus had other plans for me, and the safety switch tripped, preventing any serious harm. I decided to resign from all my roles at the Church and go fishing.
They eventually put me on a drug called Humira, which finally brought some ease to the pain, and I was able to come off Prednisolone.
In July 2024, I saw a travel doctor for a yellow fever injection. I travelled to Kenya and Uganda in August and to Ghana for Leaders Network International conferences in November. I had previously seen my local doctor, who told me I could not get the yellow fever injection because of the Humira injection I was using. I decided to see the travel doctor anyway and as I was driving to the doctors I had four weeks dropped into my spirit the doctor asked me how my health is and I said to him my health is fine it's really good and he then said to me are you sure and I said yes and he said according to your medical report you have rheumatoid arthritis and you're on a drug called Humira and I said to him I have not been on the drug for four weeks now when he said unfortunately I cannot give you the yellow fever injection because it is a live virus and it'll make you very sick because your immune system is suppressed, and I said to him I have not been on any medication for four weeks so he looked it up and the Australian website, it said eight weeks before you can have the injection, he also looked up the American website but the American and it said that after 4 weeks that you could then have the yellow fever injection, he said under these guidelines I'm happy to give you the yellow fever injection because you are adamant that you want to have it because you are travelling to different countries in Africa, the Doctor gave me the yellow fever injection my prayer was Lord I’m going to Africa I pray there is no side effects to the yellow fever injection and my body would be healed,
Praise God I had no side effects from the yellow fever injection, but I also have not been on prednisone or taking any of my Humira injections. MY BODY WAS HEALED! I rang my specialist and said I had stopped taking my Humira injections. She requested I have a blood test, I have not heard from her. It is now the 11th of February 2025, and I have been healed of this disease. I am healed and praise God.
This is why I'm passionate about seeing people who are sick healed. After years of prayer, being prayed for, listening to healing sermons, reading books, worshipping, fasting, and praising, I know what it is like to be held captive in sickness, and I understand what it is like to be sick.
My prayer is to see those who have been held captive set free. The devil's works must be stopped in the name of Jesus Christ.
If you are reading this and have a sickness or disease, Jesus did it for me, then Jesus will do it for you! The Power of Testimony, we are overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony
Revelation 12:11
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
In the coming weeks, I will release a workshop healing manual.
I aim to deliver a practical workshop that teaches what the Bible says about healing and miracles. This workshop will also help you connect with the Holy Spirit, enabling you to experience these teachings in your life. My goal is to see your life transformed, to get your healing, and to witness miraculous signs and wonders, healing those who are sick—physically or mentally—so they may be made whole.
Acts 4:30
30 Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
Love & Blessings,
Mal
