My first trip as a Pastor for Leaders Network International (LNI) dates from the 11th to the 18th of October, 2023
Before I begin sharing about the LNI Conference, I feel it’s important to share how I became part of the LNI Family.
In 2011, I travelled with Pastor John Cairns to Kenya. It was at this time that I realized I had a passion for traveling and ministering overseas. Kenya is where my eyes were opened to the supernatural. We saw miracles occur, the sick was healed, and Pastor John Cairns equipped and trained all the leaders. That left me with what was next. My whole world was shaken by what I had seen and how being part of it had changed my life and I wanted more.
I stepped away from being a Missions Pastor and Elder at Peninsula City Church in 2019, and I will share more about my testimony in an upcoming newsletter. I have been very fortunate that Pastor John has stayed in contact with me since 2011, and we have had regular meetings. Additionally, Pastor Ken Hooper has been with me since the day I gave my heart to Jesus.
In December 2021, God began stirring me, and I began asking questions that there has to be more than what’s happening right now, I can’t just attend church and run fishing charters.
In January 2022, I caught up with Pastor John Cairns and expressed my struggles. I told him, “I can’t continue living this way. I need to get back involved in ministry.” I felt like a caged lion, roaring and ready to be released. Pastor John and I shared a cup of coffee and discussed what ministry could look like moving forward. When I left, I was thankful to God for him;
A few months passed, and I caught up with Pastor John. I asked him if he would add me to the LNI team as a pastor. A few days later, John responded and said he would add me to the LNI team and ordain me as a minister to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a result, in August 2023, I officially became part of the LNI family.
Shortly after this, Pastor John asked me if I would be interested in going to India. To be honest, I didn’t need to think about it; I had been to India before. Before I knew it, we had agreed to attend an LNI conference in October. This would be my first trip as an LNI minister representing the organization, and I was incredibly excited.
I arrived in Vijayawada on Wednesday, October 12th, after two flights. Upon landing, I was greeted by Livingstone Prabu and Pastor Victor at the airport. I was told that we had a three-hour car ride ahead to my accommodation. On the way, we stopped for dinner, which was good, to sit and relax around a meal
As always, the traffic was crazy, with ridiculous potholes, reminding me that I was definitely back in India! I was excited to see what the trip had in store.
When we finally arrived at Pastor Victor’s house, I was happy to find my room on the upstairs floor. It had a fan and air conditioning, which was really lovely, along with my toilet and bathroom. I was pleased with the accommodation, but staying true to Indian form, the power would go out halfway through the night. The air conditioning turned off, and the fans stopped, waking me up in a sweat. I managed to go back to sleep when the fans came back on, but I would wake up cold when the air conditioning restarted. Ah, welcome back to India!
On Thursday morning, I awoke to the sound of the mosque calling for prayers at 5:00 AM. I thought, “Here we go.” After having breakfast and showering, we set off to the LNI conference. It was fascinating to see the locals, the shops, the dirt roads, the traffic, the animals, and the overall life of the community, all amidst the dust.
We arrived at a beautiful little church building where worship was already taking place. It was wonderful to walk into the church, and as I sat down after being welcomed, I paused to thank the Lord for the opportunity to be there. As I stood up to begin worship, tears began to stream down my face. I felt the hurt and suffering that the community has been enduring. Jesus revealed their pain to me, and it broke me.
I prophesied over them, saying, “Jesus has heard your prayers and sees all that is happening here. Your prayers will not go unanswered; you are entering a season of change, and your prayers will be fulfilled.”
I wanted to give my all, so I shared my messages during the first and second sessions. I received a wonderful response for prayer, and I prayed for many during that time.
Afterward, some pastors and leaders came to where I was staying. We began discussing what churches look like and how they run their ministries. They asked me a lot of questions, and we had a great time-sharing insights about what God is doing in our lives. It was truly a wonderful opportunity to get to know everyone better.
Once they left, I went to my room and sat in reflection. Then, there was a knock on the door. They brought in a little girl who had a fever and asked if I could pray for her. Of course, I said and prayed for her and her parents before they left the room.
As we left the house to go to church, I saw the little girl I had prayed for the night before. They told me that the fever had left her, and she was feeling well. She was running around outside, playing. Praise God for the first miracle that had happened!
Friday was challenging; the first session did not connect well, but during the second session, we had a breakthrough. I was contending in the spiritual realm, and as I look back now, it’s clear how significant that was. I prayed for many young children with fevers, including a boy who was cross-eyed, but there wasn’t much change at first. We did experience breakthroughs with others who had fevers, knee pain, and back issues. Many people encountered relief and said they felt good, as if the weight of the world had been lifted off their shoulders.
That evening, I had people knock on my door for prayer, fever again, and sicknesses.
On Saturday, I spent the morning in my room encouraging Livingston and Prabu to answer questions about the Bible and what God is talking to them about their futures. We discussed our favorite stories from the Bible.
We did some sightseeing,
People were coming to my room; there was a knock on my door as they came for prayer.
During Saturday’s evening service, we focused on Mark chapter 2, which helped people connect with the story on a personal level. The prayer session was incredible; we witnessed an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. As we continued to pray, the presence of the Holy Spirit became increasingly tangible and powerful.
We saw multiple groups of women experiencing freedom simultaneously. Many shared symptoms like headaches and pain, and we witnessed healing from back pain. One woman who had paralysis on her left side was powerfully touched by the Holy Spirit and was healed. She could even hold her Bible with that arm and move her legs up and down. I was able to prophesy over individuals and encourage everyone present. This was the most powerful encounter I have ever experienced; the Holy Spirit worked in ways I had only dreamed of. I hadn’t seen God encounter His people like this since my time in Kenya in 2011. I was utterly in awe and truly did not want the night to end.
Additionally, another lady with a skin disease reported back to her Pastor the next day that she experienced her first whole night of sleep in years, having previously been tormented through the night.
Sunday morning, Pastor Victor spoke first, and then I shared about the kingdom of God. I used the example of the key in the door to unlock the Kingdom of God, which they understood that I was sharing.
They were so hungry for prayer. Knees, back pain, and fever healed people, and they felt the peace of Jesus. The church service was all women. They honoured me so much, and I was totally blessed once again, reduced to tears as they put a scarf and flowers on me and took a photo of us all.
I prayed again for people who came to my door, as they had heard that people were being prayed for and healed.
Sunday night, Outreach, we shared out on a road in a small village.
The Holy Spirit revealed to me the significance of water, rivers of living water, starting with the story of the woman at the well. I spoke about our need for water, both physically and spiritually. I also referenced Ezekiel, who walked into deep waters. While I was sharing this message, a rock was thrown at me, and I heard it hit the fence beside me. I thank Jesus for protecting me, those present were so eager for prayer. Ninety percent of the individuals I prayed for were women, and each of them experienced an encounter with God.
Monday was a rest day,
What was truly powerful was the number of people who came to the house asking for prayer. The neighbourhood heard that people were experiencing healing. I prayed for several more individuals throughout the day, and then, in the evening, a young man came to ask for prayer. He and his family were Muslims. He had a skin rash and had to give up his schooling to work, as the family was struggling financially. His father had just undergone heart surgery. I prayed for him and told him that his skin rash would be gone by the following morning. I spoke life into him, assuring him that this was not the end of his dreams, but rather a time for him to navigate.
After finishing the prayer, I asked him how he felt, and he responded that he felt something running through his body that he couldn’t explain. He then requested prayer for his father and also for his sister, who was unable to conceive. We talked for a while, and then he left.
On Tuesday morning, I was informed it would take 3 hours to reach the airport. I mentioned that I prefer to arrive early. If we were supposed to leave at 2 AM, then we should leave at that time. However, they were following the typical Indian time, which frustrated me. I insisted that we needed to leave as promised. Eventually, we departed shortly after I prayed for everyone.
About two hours into our trip, the car broke down. I believed it was the turbo since the car had lost power. I began to pray, tears streaming down my face, and texted those I trusted for prayer. I prayed, “Lord Jesus, I don’t want to miss my flights. I’ve given all I have, and I’m ready to come home.” I was worried I would miss my flights since we were still over an hour away.
After much discussion and a slow drive, we arranged for a taxi and turned off the freeway into the next town. LOL, I had a race car driver, DRIVING THE TAXI thinking, “Well, I’m either going to make it to the airport on time or die trying!” Either way, I would be happy. Thankfully, we arrived early, and just as I was grateful, I found out that my flight had been delayed. My next step was to catch the plane from New Delhi to Melbourne, and fortunately, I made it. The boys were getting the car fixed and would be getting home later. I made the trip home and was able to sleep for most of the journey.
I had the wonderful privilege of encouraging all the pastors and leaders around the districts. Some travelled over 300 kilometres to attend the meetings. I was able to uplift and pray for everyone present, witnessing the work of Jesus among His people. It was incredible to see lives being set free and healings taking place. Thank you, Jesus!
I also had the chance to pray for people in the community. News had spread that healings were occurring, starting on the first night with a little girl who was healed of her fever. The works of Jesus were being discussed in the homes around us, and it felt truly special.
The people there were incredibly humble and loving, serving me generously. I have been blessed in so many ways. This trip is one I will always remember!
I spoke with Pastor John and Pastor Ken before Ieaving for India regarding ministry. We all agreed that if I witnessed signs, wonders, miracles, and healings, it would confirm that I was being called into ministry. This experience has led me to take the next steps in my journey. I have now stepped out in faith and started Malcolm May Ministries.
Thank you for taking the time to read my newsletter.
Let’s run the race for Jesus,
Love & Blessings,
